The Sahinur Dedeman Bone Marrow Transplantation and Stem Cell Treatment Center, is adjacent to the Medical Oncology Hospital. It has a 4-storey annex building with 40 beds, which have been operating since 2009.
The Hospital for Bone Marrow Transplantation contains three separate units; Stem Cell Aphaeresis’, Stem Cell Processing, and Coordination for Laboratory Storage. In the Bone Marrow Transplantation and Stem Cell Center there are five faculty members, one specialist doctor, three resident doctors, and 26 nurses.
An average of 150 bone marrow transplants and stem cell therapies are performed annually. This hospital is the top center in Turkey and the 5th among European countries, in terms of the transactions. It also has the largest bed capacity in Turkey.
The Bone Marrow Transplantation and Stem Cell Treatment Center was accredited by JACIE (Joint Accreditations Committee of ISCTE and EBMT) on 14 February 2012, according to European and World standards. All operations are carried out following international standards.
Patients, coming from Europe and other countries for treatment in the Bone Marrow Transplantation and Stem Cell Treatment Center, are often guests in the Hiziroglu Training Hotel after their therapy. This hotel is located in the university campus. The average duration of treatment in the hospital varies between 15 to 45 days after bone marrow transplantation and stem cell transplantation.
